AARP Driver Safety Program Honoring Veterans


The AARP will be offering a driver training class on Saturday November 17th, 1-5 PM, at the First National Bank Community Center.  This class is part of the AARP Driver Safety Program honoring our veterans.  All veterans, their spouses/partners/significant others, and children living at home are covered under the free class offer.  Anyone who is not a veteran may also take the class at the normal rate of $14.00; AARP members receive a $2.00 discount off the price.   Attached is a flyer for you to post on your company bullentin board or to pass along to oithers who may benefit from taking the course.  Insurance companies often offer discounts on rates to those who have taken one of these classes.

Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser at St. Joseph’s

The St. Joseph PTO will host a  Spaghetti Dinner on Sunday, November 4, 2012 from 10am-2pm at the Parish Hall. Proceeds will support the St. Joseph’s School. Tickets are $8 for Adults, $4 for (5-12 yrs) and 5 and under Free.  Carryout will also be available.  There will also be a Quilt Raffle and tickets are $2 each or 6 for $10 for more information you may contact the school at 479-963-2119.

Paris Rotary Club Fundraiser

The Paris Rotary Club is currently collecting recipes for a community cookbook.  An order form and recipe sheet is attached.  If you would like to contribute a recipe or preorder a cookbook (or both) please return as soon as possible.  Your place of business or affliation will be noted along with the recipe as advertisement.

Philanthropic Corporation of the Year Nominations Being Accepted

The Arkansas Community Foundation (ARCF) is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to helping generous individuals, families, civic groups, and businesses financially support charitable causes throughout Arkansas. One of more than 700 community foundations nationwide, ARCF is the only foundation in Arkansas through which individuals and corporations can create endowment funds for the public benefit of the entire state and its communities. With assets of more than $145 million as of 2011, the foundation has provided more than $80 million in grants to charitable organizations since its founding.

Nominations for the Philanthropic Corporation Of The Year are being accepted. Individuals, companies, employees, friends and organizations are invited to make nominations. Here is the form for application.

Helping The Hannah House

We are collecting the little blue stickers they were giving away at CV’s for bakeware…why throw them away when we could use them for a non-profit…have till Oct. 23rd to turn them in for bakeware and we would like to help Hannah House with this…
